About Me
I am a proud 1st gen Mexican-American woman and a dedicated advocate for financial empowerment. Spending the last decade in the classroom where I witnessed so many inequities inspired me to support marginalized communities in having access to financial education.
Combining my expertise in teaching and finance, I offer holistic, inclusive coaching tailored to each person’s unique identity and experiences. I believe everyone deserves to live a life free from money stress, and work to create safe, judgment-free space where clients can openly discuss their financial concerns and aspirations. My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, ensuring clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take control of their financial futures.
FAMILIA
Family is really important to me. We are very close and despite living in different states, we see each other regularly. My parents have been married for 35 years and set a great example of love, commitment, and entrepreneurship. I am so lucky to have inherited not only their grit, but their passion for education and continued self-improvement. Paola and Juli, my sisters, live in Arizona. My older sister recently got married and my little sister recently started an event planning business!
Luz and I have been married for 7 years. This year, she started a real estate transaction coordination business and has been loving it. Of course, I do the business financials, which is a fun way for us to work together. We love to travel and eat! When we’re not working, you can find us at our local queer kickball league or trying a new restaurant!
Fun Fact: there are 7 businessES between us!
My story began in 2020
I am a full-time band and orchestra teacher at a magnet school in Southeast LA. When quarantine hit, I had more free time and faced $129,503 in student loan debt, $0 in savings, and a depleted Emergency Fund. So, I dove into financial education, realizing it wasn’t as hard as I thought. In fact, I started posting on TikTok for my own accountability and then my life changed forever.
Not only did people start commenting their questions, but my own students and their parents started asking me as well. This inspired me to start Realistic Personal Finance (RPF) Education, coaching people to achieve financial freedom. What sets me apart is that I provide an identity-first approach to financial literacy, meaning we’ll root our work in your experience, mindset, and habits. This allows us to build a strong foundation and ultimately empower you to live a life free from money stress.
